Family Fishing Trip: Creating Memories That Last

Family Fishing Trip: Creating Memories That Last

Wild. Beautiful. Untouched. That’s how one family described their stay at Chalet des Pins, nestled on the banks of the Kinonge River. The river itself, alive with bass and pike, offered the perfect setting for simple pleasures: paddling, swimming, and casting a line together.

On their second day, the family ventured further, booking a guided outing on Lake Papineau. With its crystal-clear waters and untouched shoreline, it’s easy to forget how close you are to home. The guide led them to hidden shallows where feisty bass were waiting — a moment of excitement and teamwork that won’t soon be forgotten.

To wrap up the adventure, they visited Lac Collins, a peaceful and private brook trout lake tucked deeper into the reserve. There, they landed beautiful trout — the kind of fish that feel like a true reward.

Beyond the fishing, their days were packed with activities: from friendly games and billiards at the chalet, to exploring hiking trails, splashing around at the beach, and spending time at our Activity Center. There was something for everyone — and plenty of laughter to go around.

At Kenauk, fishing is more than a sport. It’s a way to disconnect from the noise, reconnect with each other, and create lasting family memories in nature’s quietest corners.
