As a long time member and former captain of the Canadian Fly Fishing team, John’s expertise with a fly rod is hard to rival. Equally at home fishing streams or the lakes at Kenauk Nature, John’s passion for the sport is contagious. Experienced or novice, man or woman, all guests enjoy time spent fly fishing with John and it is difficult not to end a day spent at his side without acquiring additional insight and knowledge of the art of casting a fly.

Douglas has been a master guide at Kenauk Nature for the past seven years and has extensive knowledge of all the lakes at Kenauk Nature. He started fishing at the age of 5 and grew up in Cape Town South Africa fishing and diving. His passion for the outdoors continued when he moved to Canada in 1999 and spent three years fishing the rivers and lakes of British Columbia and a further two years fishing the mighty Bow river in Alberta before settling in Ontario. He enjoys getting to know his guests and ensuring every day they spend on the water is an enjoyable one.
